I have this outside at the moment, but it’s going to get moved inside in the fall. It’s really not warm enough for an outdoor plant.

This plant loves shade outside, but give it lots of light inside to get the blooms. When the light is sufficient it will bloom year round for you. If it is getting too much light the leaves will get white blotches, move it away from the sun a bit if that happens.

Keep the soil moist to slightly dry. Error on the side of dryness if you are not sure.

It can reach 3′-5′ in height, it loves to be pruned and it is very easy to start new plants from the cuttings. Pull off the bottom few leaves and plant the cuttings in moist soil and you should be able to give a few of these away.

Like most tropical plants it is toxic.

Go easy on the fertilizer.

Keep it slightly pot bound. It hates to be repotted, so expect some sulking after you repot it and do so only when necessary.

Susceptible to whiteflies, spider mites, scale and mealy bugs.
