New Orchid Species

. . . DEC Threatened Flora Recovery coordinator Andrew Brown said the new species were both biologically bizarre and complex.

“We were already aware of certain species that emitted an airborne chemical that mimics a female wasp pheromone to attract males for pollination purposes,” Mr Brown said.

“But to find species that actually take on certain physical similarities to wasps is remarkable.” . . .
